Emerald Valley PT is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Tallahassee, Florida. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Physical Therapist in developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, utilizing modalities to enhance mobility and alleviate discomfort.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, communicating updates and any concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist and relevant medical personnel.
  • Conduct assessment of patients’ physical capabilities and limitations, providing feedback on their readiness for therapeutic activities.
  • Execute functional therapeutic activities and exercise programs independently, with a focus on enhancing patient experiences and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and updated medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure seamless communication and care continuity.
  • Engage with patients through education and support, guiding them on their rehabilitation journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with orthopedic outpatients, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. Our patient population ranges from young adults to seniors, and your role will be vital in tailoring therapeutic interventions that meet the diverse needs of each individual.

Qualifications

  • A valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License from the state of Florida or proof of an equivalent educational credential approved by the Florida State.
  • A minimum of two years of direct experience in clinical patient care is required.
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques, with a special emphasis on improvement protocols specific to orthopedic recovery.
