Position Overview

Velocity Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Staff Physical Therapist to join our team in Tallahassee, Florida. In this full-time onsite role, the successful candidate will play a crucial part in evaluating and treating patients with orthopedic issues, contributing to their recovery and rehabilitation. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients within 24 hours of physician referral, ensuring timely identification of treatment needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and physician recommendations, obtaining necessary approvals for services.
  • Implement and adjust therapeutic interventions according to each patient's unique requirements, addressing their specific orthopedic conditions.
  • Supervise and support Physical Therapy Assistants during patient care activities, fostering a cooperative team dynamic under the state practice act.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of evaluations, daily treatment notes, and progress reports as mandated by PT Board State Practice Act and third-party payer requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, including physicians, nursing staff, and family members, to discuss patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Lead in-service training sessions to educate facility staff on best practices in rehabilitation and patient care methodologies.
  • Participate actively in discharge planning, including instructing patients and their families on home exercise programs and caregiver training.
  • Facilitate the ordering of durable medical equipment, ensuring that patients have the necessary tools for independence post-treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients with orthopedic concerns, including post-operative recovery, injury rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. You will work closely with individuals of all ages, from young athletes needing sports rehabilitation to older adults recovering from surgical procedures, ensuring that each receives tailored care that meets their specific needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current Florida State Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, specializing in outpatient orthopedics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with patients and healthcare professionals alike.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in exercise prescriptions, manual therapy, and sports rehabilitation preferred to enhance patient treatment options.

Compensation and Benefits
