Work Environment

You will work full-time in our hospital-based outpatient facility, where you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. Our facility is equipped with specialized equipment for pediatric therapy, including therapeutic toys, balance aids, and adaptive tools to ensure effective interventions. Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, developmentally appropriate physical therapy care to children from birth to adolescence under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist (PT).
• Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans that focus on enhancing patients' strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and overall confidence through engaging activities.
• Utilize creative, play-based methodologies to encourage children’s participation in exercises, making therapy enjoyable and effective.
• Regularly assess and document patient progress, collaborating with the supervising PT to make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
• Work closely with families, educating them on therapeutic strategies and home exercise programs to reinforce progress outside of the clinic.
• Contribute positively to a team culture that prioritizes inclusivity and safety for all children, regardless of their abilities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Pediatric PTA, your primary focus will be on treating children with a variety of diagnoses, including developmental delays, neurological conditions, orthopedic injuries, and post-surgical recovery. You will be instrumental in providing intervention strategies that enhance quality of life for children and their families, promoting independence in daily activities through tailored therapeutic approaches.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a PTA in California.
• A collaborative spirit, with a strong enthusiasm for teamwork and a passion for pediatric therapy.
• Demonstrated patience, energy, and adaptability in meeting the diverse needs of children.
• An understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and therapeutic approaches for engaging children in therapy.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in pediatric therapy is preferred, although we welcome recent graduates with clinical rotations focusing on pediatric care.
• Familiarity with play-based therapeutic techniques and assessment tools is advantageous.
• A background in working with interdisciplinary teams in a clinical or hospital setting will be beneficial.
