Complete Balance Physical Therapy Group is actively seeking a dedicated, full-time Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our premier outpatient office located in the picturesque city of Los Gatos, California. You will work directly with licensed Physical Therapists, assisting in the execution of personalized treatment plans tailored to the needs of our diverse patient population.

Work Environment
This position is onsite at our outpatient clinic, situated within a hospital setting that provides a supportive framework for patient care. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team—including physicians, nurses, and specialists—enables our PTAs to engage deeply with patient management. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering a consistent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in delivering effective treatment plans based on patient-specific needs, ensuring the highest quality of care.
- Conduct patient assessments ensuring accurate measures of mobility, strength, and functional capacity to inform treatment adjustments.
- Support patients through therapeutic exercises, balance training, and mobility techniques, emphasizing proper form and safety to enhance recovery.
- Prepare and maintain therapy areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization of therapeutic equipment such as weights, resistance bands, and modalities.
- Assist in administrative duties, which include patient scheduling, documentation of treatment sessions, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records (EMR) using systems such as WebPT.
- Engage in effective communication with patients and their families, providing education on treatment processes and promoting adherence to prescribed home exercise programs.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our outpatient clinic focuses largely on orthopedic cases; as a PTA, you will work with individuals recovering from surgeries, joint replacements, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Our patients range from young athletes to seniors, providing a broad spectrum of rehabilitation challenges. You will play a critical role in each patient’s journey, helping them achieve their recovery goals and improve their quality of life.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program is required.
- Licensure: An active Physical Therapist Assistant license issued by the state of California is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient setting is preferred, with demonstrated proficiency in supporting therapists and managing patient care.
Preferred Experience
- Comfort and experience with manual therapy techniques to assist in treatment delivery.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems, particularly WebPT, to document patient care effectively.
- A strong background in patient engagement and communication techniques to foster positive clinician-patient relationships.
Compensation and Benefits
Complete Balance Physical Therapy Group offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
