Position Overview
Thrive & Flourish Health Network is seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in Roanoke, Virginia. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans as designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring that interventions are conducted competently and safely.
- Provide one-on-one instruction and counseling to patients on therapeutic exercises and modalities aimed at improving strength, mobility, and overall physical health.
- Observe and document patient progress accurately in medical records, including measurable data related to their physical therapy goals.
- Assess patient needs with compassion, displaying empathy toward their individual health situations to create a positive therapeutic environment.
- Modify treatments based on ongoing evaluations and patient progress under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
- Engage in continuous education about the latest practices and advancements in physical rehabilitation to enhance the quality of patient care.
- Contribute to team discussions regarding patient status updates and adjustments in care plans, ensuring alignment with organizational practices and standards.
- Adhere to all legal, ethical, and professional standards in physical therapy practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our physical therapy department serves a diverse patient population ranging from post-operative rehabilitation patients to those recovering from long-term medical conditions. You will be working with individuals of all ages, tailoring approaches to meet their specific needs and physical capabilities, thereby enhancing their recovery experience and overall health outcomes.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Virginia.
- Solid understanding of anatomy and physiology, including best practices and standards in physical therapy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and providers, ensuring clear understanding of treatment processes.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Previous involvement in patient care and therapeutic exercise programming is a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to support documentation and patient care workflows.
Compensation and Benefits
