Key Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans as prescribed by supervising Physical Therapists, involving a variety of techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities as necessary.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatment approaches based on individual feedback and clinical assessment.
  • Educate patients on exercises, proper use of therapeutic equipment, and home care strategies to ensure continued recovery outside the clinic.
  • Engage with patients daily, addressing their concerns, and acting as a vital communication link between them and the Physical Therapist.
  • Complete all required patient care documentation and billing procedures, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy, while securing sign-off from the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress, share insights, and collaborate on interdisciplinary care approaches.
  • Embrace additional responsibilities as assigned to contribute to operational effectiveness and team objectives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at our facility, you will work primarily with a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from surgery, athletes requiring sport-specific rehabilitation, and oncology patients needing specialized support. Your role will be critical in assessing their needs and tailoring interventions that promote healing and functional independence.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program are essential.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant work experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Virginia is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience in oncology rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Possession of or willingness to obtain Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) certification is highly advantageous.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in a hospital or clinical rehabilitation setting, particularly focused on oncology patients, will be beneficial. Compensation and Benefits
