Work Environment

This full-time position is set within a hospital environment, where you will have the opportunity to interact with a diverse patient population. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a stable work-life balance. Your role will predominantly involve direct patient care in various therapy areas equipped with advanced rehabilitation tools and technology. Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in delivering patient-specific treatment plans by implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed.
• Instruct and motivate patients to ensure active participation in their recovery, providing encouragement and support during therapeutic activities.
• Document patient progress and responses accurately and promptly in our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring that each patient’s file is updated and compliant.
• Prepare therapy areas and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized environment for all treatments.
• Monitor patient safety during therapy sessions and make necessary adjustments to treatment approaches as needed to maximize patient outcomes.
• Create a welcoming and motivational atmosphere that encourages patient engagement and positivity during their rehabilitation journey.
• Maintain open lines of communication with the supervising Physical Therapist and other clinical staff to promote effective patient care and team collaboration.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role as a PTA will place you at the forefront of patient care, dealing with individuals dealing with a variety of conditions including post-surgery rehabilitation, chronic pain, and sports-related injuries. You will work with a broad demographic, ranging from elderly patients recovering from hip replacements to young athletes looking to regain strength after injuries. Each interaction provides a chance to make a significant difference in a person’s life through movement and recovery.

Qualifications

• A valid California Physical Therapist Assistant License is required to practice in this role.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• CPR/BLS Certification is preferred; candidates with this certification are encouraged to apply.
• While a minimum of two years of outpatient experience is preferred, enthusiastic new graduates who are willing to learn are also strongly encouraged to apply.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, families, and colleagues effectively.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in an outpatient therapy setting is advantageous, enhancing your understanding of patient needs and clinical workflows.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and documentation processes to aid in efficient patient management.
