Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Patient Treatment: Collaborate with licensed physical therapists to implement individualized treatment plans that include therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, and various physical modalities to relieve pain and enhance mobility.
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously observe and document patient responses during therapy sessions, adjusting the care plan as necessary based on real-time evaluations and feedback.
- Patient Education: Empower patients by educating them about their specific conditions, effective body mechanics, and providing guidance on home exercises to ensure the continuation of their rehabilitation journey.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments and progress in compliance with both legal regulations and clinic standards, contributing to the continuity of care.
- Assist in Patient Mobility: Aid patients in moving and transferring safely, using proper techniques to enhance comfort and prevent injury during therapy sessions.
- Maintain Equipment: Take responsibility for ensuring that all therapeutic equipment is clean, well-maintained, and ready for use, promoting a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Collaborate with Therapists and Staff: Work closely with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust effective rehabilitation strategies, fostering a team-focused approach to patient care.
- Provide Administrative Support: Assist with scheduling, intake processes, and other administrative tasks as needed to ensure the clinic operates smoothly.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries and various musculoskeletal conditions. This patient population often requires specialized support as they navigate the challenges of recovery. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in improving their mobility, reducing pain, and facilitating their return to daily activities.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Possession of a current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in California, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Comprehensive knowledge of therapeutic exercises and principles of orthopedic rehabilitation.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- A strong work ethic demonstrated through dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to patient care.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-based care environment.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience as a PTA, preferably in orthopedic or outpatient settings.
- Experience with advanced therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and other courses of treatment will be considered an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
