Royal Heights Rehabilitation Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled rehabilitation team in Sparks, Nevada. Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapy Assistant at Royal Heights, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that are critical to our patients' recovery. Your day-to-day duties may include:
- Assisting licensed Physical Therapists in the administration of treatments such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and various modalities tailored to each patient’s unique plan of care.
- Providing hands-on support during patient mobility training, functional exercises, and activities tailored to individual rehabilitation goals.
- Monitoring and documenting patients’ progress, ensuring accurate communication with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding any changes observed.
- Instructing patients and their families on the proper use of assistive devices and home care techniques that foster independence and improved health outcomes.
- Maintaining thorough and compliant documentation of patient treatment records and updates in accordance with clinic protocols.
- Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team to create a seamless approach to patient care, ensuring each individual receives comprehensive treatment.
- Contributing to the daily operations of the clinic by maintaining a clean and organized treatment area to optimize patient safety and comfort.
- Engaging actively with patients and their families to establish clear communication regarding care plans, setting expectations, and addressing concerns.
- Upholding compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and clinic policies to maintain highest standards of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your role as a PTA will involve working with a varied patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, post-surgical procedures, and age-related challenges. You will employ a tailored approach, adapting interventions to meet the specific needs of each patient, thereby supporting their physical rehabilitation and enhancing overall quality of life.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required, preferably from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Possession of or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Nevada.
- Demonstrated knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, treatment modalities, and functional movement principles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and the clinical team.
- Ability to work independently under the guidance of a supervising Physical Therapist while sharing a patient-centered approach to care.
- A compassionate demeanor and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of others.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience with a diverse patient demographic, including but not limited to orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical patients, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with documentation procedures and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
