Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our hospital facility located in scenic Newburgh, NY, renowned for its community atmosphere and accessibility. You will be working a Monday to Friday schedule, from 9 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a healthy work-life balance while providing top-tier patient care. Our clinic encourages open communication and teamwork, allowing you to collaborate with both support staff and licensed physical therapists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage personalized treatment plans created by supervising licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions, including therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and specific modality-based treatments tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Document patient progress meticulously within our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring clear communication of patient status and treatment efficacy.
  • Provide patient education on exercises, body mechanics, and other self-management strategies to foster patient independence.
  • Continuously monitor patient safety, correct techniques, and overall engagement throughout therapy sessions to maintain high-quality care practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with the PT team, front office staff, and referring providers to ensure seamless patient care and continuity of services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role as a PTA, you will work primarily with patients recovering from orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation. Understanding the diverse backgrounds and recovery challenges our clients face will enhance your ability to deliver empathetic and individualized care. This patient-centered approach is vital in promoting effective recovery pathways that align with our organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in New York State.
  • A graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic team player committed to patient success.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to engage and motivate patients effectively.

Preferred Experience

  • Interest or experience in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation.
  • A minimum of 1 year of outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred, although new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as WebPT or NetHealth will be advantageous.
  • Desire to engage in manual therapy techniques and functional movement training.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range between $60,000 and $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience, alongside a robust benefits package that includes:
