Position Overview

Gotham Enterprises Ltd is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our exceptional rehabilitation team in Sacramento, California. In this full-time onsite role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the recovery experience for our patients. Work Environment

Located in Sacramento, California, our rehabilitation clinic provides a dynamic and collaborative work setting. As a PTA, you will work onsite in a well-equipped hospital environment, interacting closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. Your work week will typically be Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the occasional need to adjust your schedule to accommodate patient care requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in developing and implementing individual treatment plans that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and physical activities designed to foster rehabilitation progress and enhance mobility.
  • Educate patients about proper body mechanics, exercise techniques, and the importance of adhering to their home exercise programs.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of Physical Therapists.
  • Monitor patient progress diligently by documenting improvement in range of motion, strength, and functionality, supporting adjustments to treatment as necessary.
  • Ensure treatment areas are prepared, organized, and stocked with necessary equipment and supplies prior to sessions.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care and achieve favorable rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support and motivation to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a positive environment conducive to healing.
  • Adhere to established ethical guidelines, maintaining patient confidentiality and advocating for their rights.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, senior patients requiring geriatric care, children in need of pediatric rehabilitation, and athletes returning from sports-related injuries. Each encounter demands a compassionate, patient-centered approach, ensuring that you adapt your treatments to accommodate varying needs and recovery timelines.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic methods pertinent to physical therapy.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement therapeutic exercises and modalities while working closely with licensed Physical Therapists.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and collaborate with the healthcare team.
