Work Environment

This role is set in a vibrant hospital environment located in Sherman Oaks, where our outpatient orthopedic care thrives. The onsite facility fosters a collaborative atmosphere, enabling our team to work closely together for improved patient outcomes. As a PTA, you will have the opportunity to interact with various healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, ensuring a well-rounded approach to patient care. The typical schedule for this position is Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Effectively implement individualized treatment plans crafted by licensed physical therapists, focusing on both short-term and long-term rehabilitation goals.
• Provide hands-on assistance to patients during therapeutic exercises, helping them execute movements correctly and ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy, tailoring each treatment to the specific needs of the patient.
• Carefully monitor and document patient progress, maintaining accurate clinical records while reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising physical therapist.
• Educate patients on the significance of home exercise programs, injury prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications to enhance their recovery.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold the confidentiality of all patient information and clinical records.
• Collaborate with our multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver coordinated and effective care, actively contributing during team meetings and case discussions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this position, you will primarily work with adults recovering from injuries, surgeries, and chronic pain conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. Our diverse patient population includes athletes, active individuals, and seniors seeking to regain their mobility and strength after surgical interventions or physical setbacks. Your role will be crucial in designing personalized programs to meet the varying needs of our clients, focusing on their specific rehabilitation journeys.

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of California.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, complemented by successful completion of an accredited PTA program.
• A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
• Strong background in therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques, including knowledge of various therapeutic modalities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a patient-centered and empathetic approach to care.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is an advantage.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is preferred; however, new graduates with relevant clinical rotations are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of treatment protocols for common orthopedic conditions and post-surgical recovery procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to educate and motivate patients to adhere to therapy recommendations.
