Position Overview

Velocity Wellness & Physical Therapy is excited to announce an opening for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at our Sherman Oaks location. This full-time role involves working directly with patients in an outpatient hospital setting, where you will play a critical role in implementing individualized therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Your contributions will directly enhance the quality of care provided to our patients, supporting their rehabilitation and overall health improvement.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Sherman Oaks, which features a state-of-the-art gym and treatment areas designed to facilitate various therapeutic interventions. You will collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring that every patient receives comprehensive care tailored to their specific needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in conducting evaluations, including gathering pertinent data through standardized tests and measurements to inform treatment strategies.
  • Implement therapy plans of care as designed by the supervising PT, performing assigned interventions and monitoring patient response to treatment.
  • Regularly assess patient progress and modify treatment approaches in accordance with the therapy plan, ensuring alignment with patients' evolving needs and functional capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, including progress notes and any modifications to treatment plans.
  • Engage in effective communication with patients, families, and caregivers to educate them about intervention strategies and encourage involvement in the rehabilitation process.
  • Participate in clinical meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions to coordinate therapies and address patient care strategies across various providers.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will work with come from diverse backgrounds and may present with a range of conditions that require physical therapy, including post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, neurological disorders, and chronic pain management. You will be instrumental in facilitating their return to optimal function, helping them improve mobility, strength, and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree, with a focus in Physical Therapy or a related field.
  • A valid California Physical Therapist Assistant License.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated competence in physical therapy treatment techniques and patient care approaches.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required. Experience in an outpatient setting and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will be considered an asset. Additionally, knowledge of current physical therapy trends, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance.
