Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician

Join the Internal Medicine team at Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) and gain hands-on experience in advanced diagnostics, specialty procedures, and patient care with the opportunity to cross-train in Cardiology.
PVESC is growing! Our new 42,000-square-foot hospital is opening soon, bringing expanded specialty services, new opportunities, and an exciting next chapter for our team in the beautiful Portland, Maine area. We re committed to exceptional medicine, professional development, and a collaborative team culture.
What You ll Do
- Assist with ultrasounds, endoscopies, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures
- Support Internal Medicine diagnostics and treatments
- Assist with our radioactive I-131 program for hyperthyroid cats
- Coordinate appointments, patient flow, and follow-up communication
- Maintain accurate medical records and referral documentation
- Communicate compassionately with clients about their pets care
- Collaborate across specialty departments to provide exceptional patient care
- Opportunity to cross-train and support the Cardiology team as well!
What We re Looking For
- CVT/LVT/RVT or experienced Veterinary Assistant
- Interest or experience in Internal Medicine or specialty care
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Ultrasound or endoscopy experience a plus
- Familiarity with veterinary software systems
- Compassionate, proactive, and team-oriented approach
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, Monday Thursday
- 7:30 AM 6:00 PM or 8:00 AM 6:30 PM
- Some holidays required
- $25 $38/hour, based on experience and licensure
- Up to $5000.00 sign on bonus based on experience and credentials
