Position Overview
Empower Concierge Rehab and PT is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Estero, Florida. Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day activities will include:
- Implementing individualized physical therapy treatment plans as designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, tailoring interventions to meet the specific goals and needs of each patient.
- Regularly monitoring patient progress, documenting outcomes using our electronic health records system, and communicating updates to the supervising therapist to ensure continuity of care.
- Instructing patients in proper techniques for therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living, promoting safe and effective practices to enhance their recovery.
- Ensuring patient comfort and safety during treatment sessions by preparing the environment and equipment, and applying appropriate techniques to minimize discomfort.
- Collaborating closely with our multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide coordinated care, actively participating in team meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment efficacy.
- Maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations, hospital policies, and Florida state licensing standards to protect patient privacy and uphold professional ethics.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily focuses on patients recovering from surgeries, chronic illnesses, and injuries, including orthopedic and neurological conditions. You will work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals of all ages, from pediatric patients to seniors, each with distinct rehabilitation needs. Understanding these unique challenges and tailoring your approach will be essential to fostering effective recovery.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current Florida PTA license or eligibility for licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Proficient communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
