Work Environment
The role is primarily onsite in our state-of-the-art outpatient facility, where you will engage with a diverse patient demographic ranging from post-operative orthopedic patients to those seeking rehabilitation from sports-related injuries. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a consistent workweek while providing ample time for patient engagement and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in executing established treatment plans as directed by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring protocols are followed for effective rehabilitation.
- Prepare and maintain therapy areas and equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment for patient treatments.
- Support patients in completing prescribed exercises, demonstrating proper techniques for strength training, balance enhancement, and mobility improvement.
- Document patient progress and assist with administrative duties, including scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate electronic medical records (EMR) using WebPT.
- Engage in continuous communication with the therapy team to address patient needs and adapt treatment plans as necessary for optimal recovery.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our facility primarily serves patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, and soft tissue injuries. The PTA will work closely with individuals ranging from young athletes to active seniors, each with unique rehabilitation goals. You will play a crucial role in guiding patients through their recovery journey, promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field from an accredited program with a focus on physical therapy assisting.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of California.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting, demonstrating effective support of treatment processes.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems, particularly WebPT, to document patient care effectively.
- Keen understanding of manual therapy techniques and their applications in patient rehabilitation.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in orthopedic physical therapy, specifically with post-operative patients.
- Knowledge of therapeutic exercise protocols and their implementation in diverse patient populations.
- Prior experience in administrative roles, contributing to patient scheduling and record-keeping.
Compensation and Benefits
