Position Overview
BodySync PT is actively searching for a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to enhance our outpatient orthopedic team located in Port Jervis, New York. Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Administering direct patient care based on the treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring each session aligns with patients' prescribed goals.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of patient progress through progress notes and discharge summaries, adhering to established protocols and department policies.
- Coordinating with other healthcare practitioners within the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care, participating in team meetings when necessary.
- Responding to department emergency protocols effectively to uphold patient safety and quality care standards during all procedures.
- Engaging in quality improvement initiatives, including chart reviews and departmental activities, to enhance practice and patient outcomes.
- Providing education and support to patients and their families regarding effective rehabilitation practices and available resources.
- Performing other related duties as assigned, while viewing all responsibilities as essential functions of the role per ADA guidelines.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our team primarily focuses on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and various musculoskeletal conditions. As a PTA, your role will be paramount in facilitating their rehabilitation, whether through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, or assistive technologies tailored to individual recovery plans.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New York.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- A commitment to patient-centered care, demonstrating compassion and excellent communication skills with patients and families.
- Proficiency in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitation practices.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) for efficient documentation and patient tracking.
Preferred Experience
Although a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required, candidates with additional certifications in specialized therapy areas or experience working in fast-paced outpatient settings will be given preference. Compensation and Benefits
