Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of our physical therapy team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Executing individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist, which may involve therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and various modalities as needed.
  • Instructing patients on correct exercise techniques and the proper use of physical therapy equipment.
  • Monitoring patient progress and evaluating responses to treatment, making necessary modifications to enhance effectiveness based on ongoing assessments.
  • Communicating patient concerns, progress, and any significant observations back to the Physical Therapist to ensure cohesive team-based care.
  • Completing comprehensive patient care documentation and securing the necessary sign-off from the supervising Physical Therapist for billing and care continuity.
  • Acting as a liaison between patients and physical therapists, ensuring clear communication regarding treatment goals and expectations.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to discussions regarding patient care improvements and treatment methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will engage with vary widely, ranging from athletes requiring recovery from sports injuries to oncology patients necessitating specialized rehabilitation. Your expertise will be essential in adapting treatment programs to meet diverse patient needs, and you will play a key role in empowering patients to achieve their therapeutic goals.

Qualifications

  • An Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program or a related institution is required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is mandatory.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Florida is essential for this position.
  • Basic knowledge of oncology rehabilitation is preferred, as well as a strong desire to enhance skills in this area.
  • A Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) credential or a willingness to pursue this certification is highly preferred.

Preferred Experience
