Work Environment

This full-time position involves working onsite in our reputable hospital facility. Our typical work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced approach to professional and personal life. You will collaborate closely with physical therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive treatment plans that promote optimal recovery and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physical therapists by executing tailored treatment plans for patients with a range of physical injuries and conditions.
  • Guide and support patients through prescribed therapy exercises and stretches, providing motivation and encouragement during sessions.
  • Monitor patient progress meticulously, documenting changes, and regularly communicating with the supervising therapist to adjust treatment as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families about effective at-home exercise routines, safety protocols, and strategies for enhancing recovery outside of therapy sessions.
  • Ensure all therapy tools and equipment are properly maintained, sanitized, and set up according to safety guidelines and operational standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, including documentation standards and HIPAA guidelines, to protect patient information.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role at Gulf Side Physical Therapy, you will primarily work with a diverse clientele, including post-operative patients, those recovering from sports injuries, and individuals seeking rehabilitation for chronic pain or neurological disorders. Your expertise will be critical in fostering trust and cooperation with patients, allowing them to engage fully in their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
  • A current California PTA license or eligibility to obtain the license is necessary for this role.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification or the ability to obtain it upon hire.
  • At least two years of clinical experience in physical therapy settings is required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to enhancing patients’ overall well-being and recovery.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a hospital or outpatient facility is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits
