Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic team at Med Lake Chiropractic and Physical Therapy in Chula Vista, California. Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant, your primary duties will include:
- Implementing individualized treatment plans developed by licensed physical therapists, ensuring adherence to protocols and guidelines.
- Setting up and maintaining therapy equipment to prepare treatment areas for patient sessions.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress, actively communicating observations to the therapy team to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Assisting with patient scheduling, intake procedures, and general administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Providing support during manual therapy sessions and patient exercises, fostering a motivating environment.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with a diverse population of patients recovering from orthopedic injuries and surgeries. Our clients range from athletes seeking rehabilitation after an injury to elderly patients recovering from joint replacements. Your role will involve building rapport and trust, enabling you to tailor your approach to meet the individual needs of each patient.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Hold an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Possess a valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in California.
- Demonstrate a minimum of two years of relevant experience in an outpatient or similar healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as WebPT, is essential for maintaining precise patient records.
Preferred Experience
We prefer candidates who are skilled in various manual therapy techniques and possess experience working with diverse patient populations. Familiarity with rehabilitation programs specific to orthopedic conditions is a distinct advantage that will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
Compensation and Benefits
