Full job description
Special Education Teacher contract position for a 36-week assignment in Middletown, CT. The role involves developing and implementing individualized education plans for middle and high school students, collaborating with staff, and managing classroom behavior to support student success. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans for middle and high school students.
Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success.
Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
Document student progress and communicate effectively with parents and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
CT Special Education Teacher License or equivalent certification.
Valid Connecticut State Teaching Certification in Special Education.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a school setting with middle and high school students.
Experience handling IEPs, classroom management, and curriculum implementation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, adaptability, and a collaborative attitude.
Ability to work full-time days in a school environment.
Successful completion of background checks and health clearances.
