Shift: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Sunburst Workforce Advisors Program - Cape Cod Healthcare and no current placement allowed at Program: Sunburst Workforce Advisors Program - Cape Cod Healthcare.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: Graduate of an accredited civilian or military operating room technician/surgical technician program.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Ortho experience strongly preferred.

Unit Details: Assists in a variety of surgical procedures/operations under the direct supervision of the surgeon and registered nurse. Able to perform scrub technician functions for all services and specialties. Prepares the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions; maintains a sterile environment according to hospital policy and AORN Standards of Care. During surgery, passes instruments and other sterile supplies; holds retractors, cuts sutures, helps count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments; prepares, cares for, and disposes of specimens taken for laboratory analysis; and assists in applying surgical dressings. Ensures availability of surgeon- and case-specific instrumentation and equipment following department protocol and surgeon preference cards; may operate sterilizers, lights, suction, and diagnostic equipment. Assists with patient transport, positioning, transfer to recovery, turnover, and restocking; under the direction of the surgeon and registered nurse, accurately and safely prepares and labels medications during the surgical procedure.

Shift & Scheduling: No calls, no weekends; on first contract, one weekend shift (8 hours) with 8 hours of backup call; on second contract, one weekend shift (8 hours) with 8 hours of backup call and 8 hours of overnight call (10p-7a), plus one Friday night call shift 10p-7a, per 4-week schedule.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 2 years
