Kitchen Manager
A growing hospitality group is looking for a hands-on kitchen leader to drive daily back-of-house operations at a dynamic fast-casual café. Kitchen Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- 2+ years of kitchen leadership experience in a restaurant, café, or hotel with direct team management duties
- Strong understanding of food cost, inventory, waste, labor, and cost control
- Proven ability to train, coach, and hold BOH teams accountable
- Practical knowledge of DOH regulations, food safety, and sanitation
- Experience using scheduling and inventory management systems
- Highly organized with effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Hands-on leadership approach
Kitchen Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including prep, production, and service from open to close
- Hire, train, schedule, and coach a BOH team to deliver consistent results
- Ensure food quality, recipe accuracy, and portion standards are met every shift
- Manage inventory, ordering, vendors, and food costs to meet financial targets
- Monitor labor, scheduling, and COGS, identifying opportunities for ongoing improvement
- Uphold all food safety, cleanliness, and Department of Health requirements
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure preventive maintenance is up to date
- Work closely with leadership to continuously enhance systems, training, and overall kitchen performance
