You will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients by helping them regain strength, enhance mobility, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.
About the Organization

Our commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care sets us apart as a leader in the healthcare field. At Lakeland Health & Fitness, we believe in promoting a culture of health, fitness, and wellness and continuously strive to improve the lives of our community members through comprehensive physical therapy services.

Our facility is designed to foster patient-centered care, allowing you to engage deeply with patients in a supportive and resource-rich environment. You will be working from Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing you with a predictable schedule that complements a balanced work-life dynamic.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of essential duties, including:
- Administering outpatient-level therapy services to patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries or managing chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
- Implementing treatment plans for individuals experiencing injuries, pain, or movement dysfunction, while also focusing on active older adults aiming to enhance mobility and prevent injuries.
- Creating personalized care plans that emphasize strength building, mobility improvements, balance enhancement, and pain reduction tailored to each patient's unique needs.
- Spending quality one-on-one time with patients, focusing on comprehensive care rather than volume, ensuring that outcomes are patient-centered and meaningful.
- Providing therapy sessions in various settings, including homes, parks, and fitness centers, to deliver functional and relevant care that resonates with patients' everyday lives.
- Collaborating closely with referring physicians, surgical teams, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of care and optimal patient outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will work with a diverse range of patients, including individuals recovering from surgery, those managing chronic pain, and active older adults focused on maintaining their mobility and independence. The demographic of Thousand Oaks is affluent and health-conscious, which aligns perfectly with our commitment to promoting overall well-being and functional independence.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program; new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of California.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to facilitate effective patient interactions and team collaborations.
- A results-oriented mindset complemented by critical thinking skills necessary for addressing varied patient needs.
- Enthusiasm for technology and a passion for learning, as staying updated on the latest tools and methodologies is essential.
Preferred Experience
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, which will greatly enhance your ability to apply your clinical knowledge to real-world scenarios here at our facility. Experience in outpatient settings or with specific patient populations is a plus but not a requirement.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000 annually, based on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
- 401(k) retirement plan to help secure your financial future.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance to support your well-being.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays, allowing you to recharge and enjoy life outside of work.
- A $1,500 annual continuing education allowance to support your professional growth.
- Flexible scheduling options to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance.
- A mentorship program featuring a fellowship-trained therapist dedicated to your career development and success.
Career Growth Opportunities
At Lakeland Health & Fitness, we are committed to fostering the professional growth of our staff. You will have access to ongoing training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge. Our structured mentorship program will offer you critical insights and support, preparing you for advanced roles within the organization.
