Work Environment
This position is onsite at our hospital facility, where you will experience a vibrant, team-oriented atmosphere. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will collaborate in a multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation, interacting with a variety of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, orthopedic specialists, and nursing staff. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs of patients.
- Administer diverse therapeutic interventions, guiding patients through exercises, manual therapy techniques, and gait training activities.
- Employ pain management techniques appropriately, adjusting strategies based on patient feedback and progress.
- Continuously monitor and meticulously document patient progress, updating the supervising Physical Therapist with any observed changes or concerns.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety measures, and practical home care strategies to enhance recovery.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate patient records in compliance with state regulations and institutional policies.
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for all patients throughout their therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
At Lakeland Health & Fitness, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population, focusing on individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and other physical impairments. Your empathetic approach will help reinforce their confidence and motivation as they navigate their rehabilitation journeys, particularly among adult and geriatric populations.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, ideally from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of California.
- Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on collaboration and building rapport with patients.
- Ability to motivate and instill confidence in adult patients during their rehabilitation process.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably with adult or geriatric patients.
- Experience in outpatient, skilled nursing, or inpatient rehabilitation environments will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and patient management software is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
