Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a supportive hospital environment in Long Beach, California, where collaboration among healthcare professionals is encouraged. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the occasional need for flexibility to meet patient demands and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting licensed Physical Therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients focused on improving mobility, strength, and functionality.
  • Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities to promote recovery and physical well-being.
  • Educating patients on proper body mechanics, exercise techniques, and home exercise programs to facilitate ongoing recovery.
  • Administering therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapies, as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Monitoring and documenting patient progress meticulously, tracking metrics such as range of motion and functional gains.
  • Preparing treatment areas and ensuring the organization of therapy tools and equipment for efficient session management.
  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to optimize patient outcomes and coordinate overall care.
  • Providing emotional support and motivation to patients, fostering a positive rehabilitation environment that encourages recovery.
  • Adhering to ethical and professional standards, safeguarding patient confidentiality and rights.

Your role will involve working with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological disorders, pediatric conditions, and age-related declines in physical capability. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 50,000 to 65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
