Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans focused on enhancing patient mobility, strength, and overall functionality through targeted therapeutic exercises.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic activities, educating them on exercises designed to relieve pain and promote recovery, while ensuring they perform activities safely and effectively.
  • Teach patients proper body mechanics and self-management strategies, including home exercise protocols that empower them to take an active role in their rehabilitation process.
  • Administer physical modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of the Physical Therapist and ensure effective application for optimal results.
  • Monitor and document patient progress including range of motion, strength improvements, and functional gains, utilizing established reporting systems to track outcomes.
  • Maintain organized treatment areas and ensure all therapy equipment and supplies are properly managed and readily accessible to promote uninterrupted patient sessions.
  • Engage with an interdisciplinary team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and other health professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide emotional support, encouragement, and motivation to patients, fostering a positive environment that enhances their rehabilitation journey.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical and professional standards while ensuring patient confidentiality and rights are respected throughout all interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy modalities related to patient care and rehabilitation.
  • Capability to implement therapeutic exercises and modalities under supervision effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate strong connections with patients and teamwork with colleagues.

Compensation and Benefits
