Work Environment
The Orthopedic PTA will work onsite in our rehabilitation hospital facility, which is well-equipped with state-of-the-art therapy equipment and resources. Our outpatient clinic hosts a dynamic team of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and various specialists, who work together to offer holistic rehabilitation services. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from either 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, providing a balanced work-life dynamic.
Key Responsibilities
As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our physical therapy team to provide exceptional care. Your specific responsibilities will include:
- Assisting Physical Therapists in performing comprehensive evaluations to assess the physical capabilities of patients, focusing on their orthopedic needs.
- Implementing treatment plans developed by physical therapists that aim to improve patients’ mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional status.
- Administering manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and utilizing modalities (such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation) to effectively treat various musculoskeletal conditions.
- Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, which may include physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to ensure all aspects of patient care are addressed.
- Educating patients and their families about home exercise programs, strategies for modifying activities of daily living, and injury prevention methods to foster independence.
- Maintaining detailed and accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment interventions, and discharge planning in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development, participating in training sessions, and pursuing advanced certifications to enhance your clinical expertise.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The Orthopedic PTA will work primarily with a diverse patient population ranging from young athletes to seniors, all coping with a variety of orthopedic conditions such as joint replacements, sports injuries, and chronic pain syndromes. Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program recognized by CAPTE.

Compensation and Benefits
