Work Environment
Located in the heart of Long Beach, our hospital setting provides a vibrant and collaborative work environment. As a PTA, you will work alongside a team of licensed physical therapists and allied health professionals dedicated to fostering a team-oriented culture. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. The patient volume averages between 1 to 2 patients per hour, offering you the ability to focus on each patient's individual needs while maintaining high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Well Resolve Therapy Assist Ltd, your key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing therapeutic services as designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
- Collaborating to develop and refine effective treatment plans, including obtaining necessary approvals from referring physicians.
- Conducting thorough reviews of patient charts and evaluations to prepare for sessions and ensure continuity of care.
- Demonstrating safety and proficiency in various physical therapy modalities, exercises, and interventions, maintaining a focus on patient safety and comfort.
- Monitoring patient progress, documenting treatment changes, and modifying care plans accordingly.
- Instructing patients, their families, and nursing staff on exercise regimens and self-care strategies to be employed post-discharge.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in our electronic health record system to adhere to compliance and billing requirements.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your role will primarily focus on outpatient orthopedic patients, including those recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. You will work with a diverse demographic, tailoring treatment plans to accommodate the unique needs of each individual. Expect to engage in hands-on therapies, restorative exercise programs, and conscientious evaluations of patient progress as part of a comprehensive care strategy.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, the following qualifications are required:
- Completion of a Physical Therapist Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- A current, active California PTA license is mandatory.
- Proficient documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
Preferred Experience
While not mandatory, the following experiences are highly valued:
- At least two years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, demonstrating effective use of exercise and manual therapy skills.
- Experience with sports rehabilitation protocols to assist active patients in achieving their physical goals.
