Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in performing in-depth evaluations of patients to assess their physical capabilities and limitations related to orthopedic conditions.
• Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by Physical Therapists, with the goal of enhancing patient mobility, strength, and functional capabilities.
• Utilize hands-on manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation to address various musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
• Document patient progress meticulously, ensuring all treatment interventions and outcomes are accurately recorded in compliance with hospital policies and state regulations.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on home exercise routines, the proper use of adaptive equipment, and techniques to prevent re-injury, thereby empowering them to take control of their recovery journey.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss patient cases, share insights on treatment progress, and contribute to interdisciplinary care plans.
• Maintain a clean and organized therapy space, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and ready for use.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, training sessions, and additional certifications to remain knowledgeable about the latest in physical therapy practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant will work primarily with patients recovering from surgical interventions, sports injuries, or chronic orthopedic conditions, ranging from children to older adults. You will be responsible for providing tailored rehabilitation services that focus on not just physical recovery but also on enhancing the patient’s overall well-being and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program and hold an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Physical Therapist Assistant.

Compensation and Benefits
