Position Overview
Mend Force Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Wyckoff, New Jersey. You will collaborate with physical therapists, physicians, and various healthcare providers to deliver coordinated care to our patients. Key Responsibilities
- Implement personalized treatment plans as directed by the supervising physical therapist to enhance patient strength, balance, endurance, and mobility.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and assist them in maintaining independence while performing activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Accurately document daily therapy sessions, noting any changes in patient condition and communicating progress to the therapy team and supervising PT.
- Instruct patients and their caregivers on safe mobility techniques and the implementation of home exercise programs to promote recovery.
- Educate patients, families, and facility staff on effective care strategies, exercises, and wellness techniques to optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
- Monitor and assess patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed, and promptly reporting significant changes to the overseeing physician and family members.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from surgeries, traumatic injuries, and chronic conditions. The focus is on helping patients regain mobility and functionality, ensuring they receive the comprehensive care needed to thrive.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active New Jersey PTA license.
- Strong clinical knowledge, along with exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred; additional certifications in geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation are advantageous.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for any travel related to patient care.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility, particularly within a rehabilitation environment, is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience working with elderly and pre/post-surgery populations can be beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
