Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans aimed at achieving the specific rehabilitation goals of each patient, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and overall physical function.
  • Engage directly with patients during therapy sessions, guiding them through exercises, stretches, and therapeutic activities to encourage physical well-being and pain management.
  • Provide education to patients about correct body mechanics, explain exercises, and develop home exercise programs that empower them throughout their rehabilitation process.
  • Administer various therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Monitor and document patient progress diligently, tracking metrics such as range of motion, strength improvements, and overall functional gains.
  • Prepare treatment areas and manage therapy equipment in a way that ensures an organized and efficient clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to guarantee seamless patient care and optimal rehabilitation outcomes through effective communication.
  • Encourage and provide emotional support to patients, fostering a motivational and positive atmosphere that enhances engagement in their recovery journey.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Active state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

  • Ability to perform therapeutic exercises and implement modalities effectively under the oversight of a Physical Therapist.
