Seaport Orthopedic PT is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Tampa, Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in Patient Treatment: Support licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized patient care plans, including administering therapeutic treatments and exercises.
- Patient Assessment: Collaborate with therapists to conduct evaluations that measure patients' progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient treatment sessions, including progress notes and compliance with state regulations, ensuring all documentation is precise and up-to-date.
- Educate Patients: Guide patients and their families on home exercise programs, safety measures, and lifestyle modifications to promote recovery and prevent further injuries.
- Equipment Management: Ensure all rehabilitation equipment is clean, functional, and ready for patient use, demonstrating proactive management of therapy spaces.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to enhance treatment plans and ensure comprehensive care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our primary focus is on orthopedic patients who require rehabilitation for various conditions including but not limited to post-operative recovery, chronic pain management, sports injuries, and mobility impairments. Your role will involve working with a diverse range of patients, from active young adults to elderly individuals, all aiming to regain their functional abilities and improve their quality of life.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
- A current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Florida.
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a clinical setting is required.
- Strong understanding of rehabilitation principles, modalities, and treatment approaches, particularly in orthopedics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
