Gateway Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at our Fullerton, California location. Work Environment
This is an onsite role within our hospital facility located in Fullerton, California. As part of a collaborative healthcare team, you will work in a dynamic environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on patient health outcomes. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional schedule flexibility to accommodate patient needs. You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, all striving towards the common goal of patient rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in the implementation of individualized patient treatment plans designed to enhance mobility, strength, and functionality.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities, ensuring proper technique and maximizing benefits such as pain relief and improved physical capacity.
- Educate patients regarding body mechanics, exercise techniques, and effective home exercise programs to foster independence and facilitate recovery.
- Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, following the protocols established by supervising physical therapists.
- Document and monitor patient progress meticulously, tracking measurable improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional independence.
- Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are organized and ready for use during therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, optimizing patient outcomes through effective communication and teamwork.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement throughout patients' rehabilitation experiences, helping to cultivate a motivating and supportive atmosphere.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times, respecting the rights and dignity of all patients.

Qualifications
