Work Environment
This position is located in our modern outpatient office within a hospital setting in Burlingame, CA. The typical schedule for this role is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
- Conduct patient assessments under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, including measuring vital signs and evaluating patient progress.
- Support patients during therapy sessions by guiding them through exercises, mobility training, and balance improvement techniques.
- Prepare and maintain therapy areas and equipment, ensuring they are clean, organized, and ready for patient use.
- Assist with administrative duties such as patient scheduling, billing, and maintaining accurate documentation in EMR systems like WebPT.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This position primarily focuses on orthopedic patients recovering from a variety of conditions, including post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal issues. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals, tailoring your approach based on each patient's unique needs and goals. Your role is integral in helping patients regain mobility, improve strength, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in California.
- A minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient setting, preferably in a rehabilitation clinic.
- Proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise.
- Previous work experience in a collaborative interdisciplinary team environment.

Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 60,000 to 70,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
