Position Overview
Resurge Rehab & Therapy is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dedicated rehabilitation team. The position is based onsite at a well-equipped hospital in Arlington, Virginia, where our rehab wing is designed to support cutting-edge treatment methodologies. Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans developed by the licensed Physical Therapist, ensuring that strategies are followed precisely to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Provide hands-on interventions, including strength training exercises, gait training, balance work, and mobility support to residents, customizing your approach based on their specific needs and progress.
- Actively observe and document patient progress, noting changes in their condition and overall responses to therapy, while consistently communicating findings to the supervising PT.
- Proactively educate residents and their caregivers on safe practices, exercise regimens, and home programs that extend treatment benefits beyond the hospital environment.
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and wellness teams to coordinate consistent, holistic care tailored to each resident’s unique goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation in strict compliance with Medicare requirements and facility regulations, ensuring the security and confidentiality of patient information.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be helping seniors and individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. Our patient population often requires specialized care tailored to geriatric needs, encompassing everything from mobility restoration to daily activity enhancements.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Virginia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification or the willingness to obtain it immediately upon hire.
- Exceptional communication skills, enabling clear interactions with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Demonstrated passion for enhancing the mobility and health of seniors, showcasing empathy and understanding in all patient interactions.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience as a PTA, preferably in rehabilitation or assisted living settings.
- Previous experience working with geriatric patients will be highly regarded, though not mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits
This full-time role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000, dependent on experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
