Position Overview

Resurge Rehab & Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team at our hospital facility located in Fairfax, Virginia. As a PTA, you will play a critical role in the rehabilitation journey of our patients, helping them regain mobility and independence while improving their overall quality of life. In this full-time position, you will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to implement personalized treatment plans focused on patient recovery and wellness.

Work Environment

The PTA will work onsite at our hospital facility in Fairfax, Virginia, a bustling location that provides easy access to a diverse patient population. The work environment is dynamic, featuring state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment and technology. Our collaborative team consists of physical therapists, nurses, wellness professionals, and support staff, all working together to provide comprehensive care. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a well-balanced work-life routine.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans tailored to each patient’s specific rehabilitation goals.
• Deliver hands-on care including strength and flexibility exercises, gait training, balance work, and mobility support.
• Monitor patient progress and provide relevant updates to therapists, ensuring a continuous and effective treatment approach.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on therapeutic exercises, safety strategies, and best practices for home recovery.
• Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team—comprising nursing, therapy, and wellness professionals—to provide holistic care that addresses physical, emotional, and social needs.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with Medicare and facility guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will primarily work with a diverse patient population, including post-operative patients, those recovering from injuries, and individuals requiring rehabilitative care due to chronic conditions. Our focus is on providing exceptional care to seniors and other adults, helping them navigate their rehabilitative journeys and achieve their personal health goals.

Qualifications

• A degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
• State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Virginia is mandatory.
• Current CPR certification or the willingness to obtain certification upon hire is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial for effective patient interaction and teamwork.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred, particularly in a hospital or rehabilitation setting.
• Experience working with geriatric or long-term care patients is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

Resurge Rehab & Therapy offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 annually, based on experience and performance, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include:
