This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Hampton, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct physical therapy services under the guidance of a licensed physical therapist, adhering to established treatment plans and protocols.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and enhance physical function, ensuring patients are directed properly in both active and passive exercises.
• Effectively perform gait training, functional training, and assist with activities of daily living, using various therapeutic techniques tailored to individual patient needs.
• Utilize physical agents such as heat, cold, and electrical modalities (e.g., ultrasound) to aid in rehabilitation and recovery, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Closely monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate any significant findings or changes in condition to the supervising physical therapist and healthcare team.
• Instruct patients on the safe use of assistive devices, including canes, crutches, and wheelchairs, facilitating their independence in mobility.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records, including conference notes and daily progress updates.
• Engage in continuous learning by participating in interdisciplinary meetings and in-service education programs to promote personal and professional growth.
• Contribute to quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives within the organization.
• Perform other responsibilities as necessary to support the clinic's operational needs and patient care objectives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
