Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing treatment plans as delegated by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT) to meet specific patient needs.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, mobility strategies, and progressions.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and promptly, ensuring compliance with facility policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control protocols and standard precautions during all patient interactions.
  • Engage with patients in physical therapy sessions, utilizing various modalities and therapeutic exercises tailored to individual recovery goals.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training programs to remain current on best practices within the field of physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse population of patients, predominantly the elderly, who require rehabilitation following medical procedures, injuries, or chronic conditions. You will play a critical role in restoring their independence and improving their overall health outcomes through effective physical therapy interventions.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of physical therapy assistant program, holding an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant license as required by the state of Virginia.
  • Ability to provide care in accordance with state and federal guidelines, including a commitment to ethical and compassionate patient care.
