Work Environment
This position is based in a hospital setting where you will work onsite surrounded by a professional and dedicated healthcare team. The role entails a structured schedule of Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. You will be managing a patient volume of 1-2 patients per hour, allowing ample time to provide focused, personalized care.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Implementing comprehensive physical therapy treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist to ensure adherence to prescribed protocols.
- Conducting therapeutic exercises tailored to individual patient needs, guiding them every step of the way during rehabilitation sessions.
- Monitoring patient progress and documenting treatments accurately while making necessary adjustments to therapy as patients respond to care.
- Educating patients on proper techniques for daily activities and injury prevention, enabling them to sustain health improvements beyond clinical settings.
- Ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout therapy sessions by maintaining a close watch on their reactions and emotional state.
- Collaborating effectively with physical therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate a comprehensive approach toward patient care.
- Maintaining accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and insurance requirements using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from surgeries, those rehabilitating from musculoskeletal injuries, and patients managing chronic pain conditions. Qualifications
To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited physical therapist assisting program (CAPTE).
