Professional Performance Physical Therapy is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a full-time position in our dynamic outpatient orthopedic office located in Scotts Valley, California. Work Environment
This full-time PTA position is based onsite in a hospital-affiliated outpatient orthopedic office, where you will work directly in a modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation technologies. The work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, offering convenient hours between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and assist in executing customized treatment plans that are designed and supervised by licensed physical therapists.
- Prepare and maintain therapy equipment, ensuring treatment areas are clean, organized, and ready for each session.
- Regularly assess and document patient progress, providing timely updates to the therapy team to inform treatment adjustments.
- Facilitate patient intake and scheduling, effectively managing administrative functions to support therapy operations.
- Engage with patients to provide motivation and guidance during therapy sessions, ensuring they feel supported throughout their rehabilitation.
- Participate in departmental meetings to discuss patient care, feedback, and best practices, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will primarily work with patients recovering from various orthopedic conditions and surgeries. This includes individuals experiencing post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, chronic pain management, and musculoskeletal disorders. Your role is critical in promoting their functional recovery and helping them achieve their personal health goals through tailored therapeutic interventions.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program.
- Current and active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of California.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a fast-paced outpatient setting, demonstrating a solid understanding of orthopedic therapy protocols.
- Competence with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably WebPT, to manage documentation and track patient progress.
- Strong manual therapy skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in using specialized treatment modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation is a plus.
- Previous involvement in community outreach programs or workshops focused on physical health promotion and education.
- Familiarity with various patient assessment techniques to better understand physical limitations and tailor treatments accordingly.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from USD 75,000 to 85,000, commensurate with experience.
