Position Overview
Gotham Enterprises Ltd is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our exceptional rehabilitation team in Oakland, California. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial role in helping patients regain their mobility and enhance their quality of life. By working closely with licensed Physical Therapists, you will assist in implementing personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique recovery journey.

Work Environment
This position is onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility, which is equipped with advanced rehabilitation technology and tools. The environment fosters collaboration among healthcare professionals, creating a supportive and dynamic atmosphere for both staff and patients. You will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional flexibility required to meet patient needs and clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' mobility and functional abilities.
- Guide patients through various therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities that promote physical well-being and alleviate pain.
- Educate patients on proper body mechanics and exercise techniques, ensuring they feel empowered to continue their own rehabilitation at home.
- Administer physical therapy modalities, including but not limited to electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Monitor patient progress by documenting essential metrics such as range of motion, strength improvements, and overall functionality.
- Set up treatment areas and prepare equipment and supplies, ensuring that all resources are organized and accessible during therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team—including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists—to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Provide emotional support to patients, fostering a motivating environment that encourages perseverance during their rehabilitation process.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting each individual’s rights and privacy.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The patients you will be working with vary widely, including children affected by developmental issues, elderly individuals recovering from surgery, athletes seeking to improve performance, and those with chronic conditions requiring ongoing rehabilitation. As a PTA, your adaptability to diverse needs will be key in tailoring treatment approaches that lead to successful outcomes.
Qualifications
- A valid Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A current state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Proficient knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques related to physical therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to implement therapeutic exercises and modalities effectively under the guidance of a supervising Physical Therapist.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport and work collaboratively within a healthcare setting.
- A strong commitment to patient-centered care, exhibiting compassion and patience.
- Exemplary detail-oriented skills, along with excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
Preferred Experience
While not mandatory, prior experience in a clinical setting, particularly within a rehabilitation facility, is highly valued. Familiarity with documentation and electronic health record systems will be advantageous as you track patient progress and contribute to care coordination efforts.
Compensation and Benefits
