Work Environment

As a Physical Therapy Assistant at our hospital facility in Burlingame, you will work in a collaborative and supportive environment that emphasizes patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for a range of essential duties:

  • Provide individualized outpatient therapy services to patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries or managing chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Design and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient, focusing on mobility, strength enhancement, pain reduction, and overall functional abilities.
  • Assist patients with movement, exercises, and therapeutic modalities while ensuring safety and comfort throughout the sessions.
  • Document patient progress accurately and communicate findings with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Engage with patients to foster motivation and adherence to their rehabilitation programs, enhancing their engagement in personal fitness goals.
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and therapists, to ensure comprehensive support for each patient's recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population you will work with includes individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, those managing chronic pain, and active older adults focused on improving mobility and preventing injuries. Your work will significantly contribute to helping these patients regain independence and enhance their quality of life through tailored rehabilitation programs.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Possession of a current California PTA state license.

Compensation and Benefits
