Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of treatment plans as designed by physical therapists, ensuring that therapy interventions meet best practice standards.
• Provide hands-on physical therapy treatments, including therapeutic exercises, functional training, and the application of physical modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
• Assess patients' needs through observation and data collection, documenting progress according to facility protocols.
• Educate and instruct patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and safety practices to promote recovery and independence.
• Communicate openly with the supervising physical therapist about patients' progress, challenges faced during therapy sessions, and any necessary modifications to treatment plans.
• Ensure adherence to ethical and legal standards of practice while maintaining documentation that supports the delivery of services.
• Engage with patients compassionately, understanding their individual differences and displaying empathy throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily engage with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgeries, athletes with sports-related injuries, and senior patients experiencing mobility challenges due to age-related factors. Your role will not only involve physical rehabilitation but also provide psychological support as patients navigate the challenges of recovery. The collaborative nature of our work requires strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients from various backgrounds.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field related to Physical Therapy, or an Associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program.
• Valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant or relevant certification.
• Significant knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic best practices as they relate to physical rehabilitation.

Preferred Experience

• Experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a hospital or outpatient setting is highly favored.
• Proficiency in using common physical therapy modalities and equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively instruct patients and address their unique needs.

Compensation and Benefits
