Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the comprehensive evaluation of patients by collecting data on their daily living skills and physical capabilities, enabling effective and personalized treatment planning.
  • Implement therapeutic procedures as directed by a supervising physical therapist, which may include exercise instruction, manual therapy techniques, and activities of daily living (ADLs) training.
  • Monitor and observe patient progress throughout therapy sessions, documenting observations and outcomes, and promptly reporting any significant changes to the supervising physical therapist.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to discuss patient progress and adapt treatment plans according to emerging needs, ensuring an integrative approach to patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will work with primarily include athletes recovering from injuries, individuals with orthopedic conditions, and those requiring rehabilitation due to post-surgical interventions. Your interactions will directly impact their recovery and return to optimal physical function, making your role critical in their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

  • Must possess an Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current and unrestricted licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Florida is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with patients, families, and colleagues across diverse backgrounds.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting, ideally dealing with sports and orthopedic populations.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a hospital setting or rehabilitation center is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with advanced therapeutic modalities and exercise prescription techniques.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and treatment tracking.

Compensation and Benefits
