Position Overview

Progressive Rehabilitation Center is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to enhance our patient care team in Pompano Beach, Florida. In this full-time position, you will play a critical role in delivering direct patient care, collaborating closely with licensed Physical Therapists to implement tailored rehabilitation programs designed to maximize patient recovery and improve overall physical health.

Work Environment

This position is located in a supportive hospital setting where we foster collaboration and teamwork. The typical work schedule for our Orthopedic PTA is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Here, you will work alongside a diverse team of specialists, benefiting from shared knowledge and resources within our well-equipped outpatient clinic. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of Physical Therapist-directed treatment plans, guiding patients through their individualized therapy exercises with attentiveness and care.
  • Monitor patient progress meticulously by tracking their responses to therapy, documenting findings, and providing detailed updates to the supervising Physical Therapist during case discussions.
  • Manage and maintain clinical treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper use of therapeutic equipment and modalities to support efficient patient activities.
  • Participate in scheduling patient appointments and providing administrative assistance when needed, including facilitating communication between patients and the clinical team.
  • Conduct assessments focusing on functional movement, balance, and coordination to support comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of our services is the orthopedic outpatient population, assisting patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Our diverse clientele ranges from young athletes to elderly individuals seeking to regain mobility and reduce pain. You will have the opportunity to work intimately with these patients, providing them with the hands-on support they need to regain functionality and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting is required; candidates with a Bachelor’s degree are encouraged to apply.
  • An active Physical Therapist Assistant license is mandatory in the state of Florida.
  • Strong manual therapy skills, able to engage effectively in diverse therapeutic techniques to meet various patient needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and health team members to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is preferred, with experience in WebPT being an advantage.

Preferred Experience

  • At least two years of outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred, enhancing your ability to navigate the demands and workflows unique to this clinical environment.
  • Experience with patient assessments and custom exercise programs would be a significant asset.

Compensation and Benefits
