Position Overview

The Progressive Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Lake Worth, Florida. This full-time position focuses on providing high-quality support to patients undergoing orthopedic rehabilitation within an active outpatient environment. As the PTA, you will play a pivotal role in implementing treatment plans designed by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring that each patient receives personalized, attentive care.

Work Environment

This position is based in a bustling outpatient clinic located within a hospital setting, equipped with advanced rehabilitation technology and resources. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and support staff, all dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a well-structured and predictable work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the supervising Physical Therapists in executing treatment plans for orthopedic rehab patients, ensuring fidelity to the protocols established.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, maintaining accurate and timely records to facilitate effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Lead patients through prescribed exercise routines, providing guidance and modifications as necessary to promote recovery and safety.
  • Organize therapy space to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient working environment for both staff and patients.
  • Support therapists in assessments that focus on patient coordination, mobility, and functional abilities, adapting interventions to meet individual needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population you will serve primarily includes individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, or conditions such as fractures, arthritis, and joint replacements. You will engage with a diverse range of patients across different age groups, tailoring your approach to ensure that each person feels comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Florida.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
  • A strong foundation in manual therapy techniques and patient education.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and applying evidence-based practices.

Preferred Experience

  • At least two years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically WebPT, or similar software.
  • An understanding of best practices in rehabilitation and patient care protocols.
  • Experience in treating a wide variety of patients with differing needs and conditions.

Compensation and Benefits
