Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of treatment plans established by licensed physical therapists, ensuring high standards of patient care.
  • Guide patients through prescribed exercise regimens, ensuring proper technique and providing motivation to enhance their rehabilitation experience.
  • Monitor patient progress and outcomes, documenting any changes and relaying this important information to supervising therapists after each session.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy equipment and treatment areas, adhering to safety and health regulations.
  • Be involved in administrative functions, such as patient scheduling and maintaining accurate patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably WebPT.
  • Participate in assessments focused on patients' balance and coordination, contributing valuable insights into their recovery plans.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily focus on an orthopedic patient population, providing care to individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will interact closely with patients of varying ages, adapting treatment approaches to meet unique needs and preferences, ensuring that each patient receives comprehensive, individualized care.

Qualifications

  • Current Florida PTA licensure is required.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient therapy setting is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, with a preference for candidates experienced in using WebPT.
  • Excellence in manual therapy techniques will be beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective patient interactions and teamwork.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
  • Hands-on experience with manual therapy techniques and exercise modalities.
