Work Environment

As a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant at our hospital-based outpatient clinic, you will work Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The environment is fast-paced, with a focus on teamwork and proactive patient care. With a patient volume averaging 1 to 2 patients per hour, our team emphasizes quality interactions, allowing you to build meaningful relationships with patients while delivering effective therapy. Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute Physical Therapist-directed treatment plans, guiding patients through specified therapeutic exercises tailored to their needs.
  • Monitor patient progress closely, meticulously documenting improvements and challenges while providing regular updates to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, ensuring all equipment is used safely and effectively to facilitate rehabilitation exercises.
  • Assist with patient scheduling, coordinating appointments to optimize clinic flow and enhance the patient experience.
  • Conduct assessments of functional movement, balance, and coordination as part of the ongoing evaluation process.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role is primarily focused on serving orthopedic patients who are recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic pain conditions. You will play a vital role in their rehabilitation journey, providing compassionate support and guiding them through tailored rehabilitation exercises aimed at regaining strength, flexibility, and mobility. Your contributions will directly impact their recovery and overall well-being.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting or a related field.
  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Florida.
  • A minimum of two years of outpatient experience is highly preferred.
  • Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, experience with WebPT is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to establish positive rapport with patients and their families.

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience with manual therapy techniques and modalities commonly used in orthopedic rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess functional limitations and develop appropriate rehabilitation strategies.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for the Physical Therapist Assistant role ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience and skills.
