Position Overview
We are excited to announce an opening for a dedicated and compassionate Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at True North Medical Institute in Reno, Nevada. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 per year, operating within a vibrant and supportive healthcare environment. Work Environment
The PTA will work onsite in our state-of-the-art hospital, where the focus is set squarely on orthopedic rehabilitation. Our operational hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a predictable work schedule with evenings and weekends off.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting comprehensive orthopedic evaluations alongside supervising physical therapists to determine individual patient needs.
- Implement tailored treatment plans designed by physical therapists, applying techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapies, and patient education to ensure effective rehabilitation progress.
- Monitor patient progress by tracking outcomes and adjusting treatment plans as necessary in collaboration with the clinical team.
- Educate patients and caregivers on rehabilitation exercises to be performed at home, fostering independence and awareness of movement mechanics.
- Engage in daily communication with physicians and other healthcare providers to discuss treatment plans and ensure seamless continuity of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As our PTA, you will work predominantly with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, traumatic injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will be integral in addressing issues related to pain management, mobility enhancement, and functional restoration. Our diverse patient population includes athletes, elderly individuals, and those undergoing post-operative rehabilitation, allowing for a rich variety of clinical experiences.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and hold a valid PTA license in Nevada, or be eligible for licensure upon employment.
- Demonstrated passion and commitment to orthopedics, manual therapies, and patient education.
- Exceptional communication skills, showcasing empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and team members.
- Well-organized, self-motivated, and committed to ongoing professional development in physical therapy.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in orthopedic rehabilitation, sports medicine, or chronic pain management.

- Certification in orthopedic clinical specialty (OCS) or interest in obtaining such certification.
- Experience with advanced therapeutic techniques such as dry needling, taping, or cupping is advantageous.
